The short version
- Battlefield 6 joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on October 13, on Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud.
- In India, the standard edition costs ₹4,999 on the Xbox store. Ultimate is ₹1,089 a month and PC Game Pass is ₹879.
- Ultimate members also get two EA Play bonus packs, just as Season 5 arrives with a Las Vegas map.
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and seven other games leave Game Pass on October 15.
Battlefield 6, a year on
Microsoft confirmed the date in its first October Game Pass wave on October 7. Battlefield 6 launched a year ago, and Kotaku calls it last year's best-selling game. This is the first time it has been on the service.
It's coming through EA Play, which is bundled with Ultimate. That brings the Deployment Pack and the Season 5 EA Play Pack, both free to claim. Season 5 adds a Las Vegas map, and GamingBolt reports a Dead Space event is on the way. PC Game Pass members get the game too. The cheaper Premium tier isn't listed.
On paper, a month of Ultimate costs about a fifth of the ₹4,999 standard edition. That's a cheap way to see if the multiplayer clicks before you buy it.
The rest of the wave
Eight of the nine games in this wave are day-one releases:
- October 8: Echo Weaver, Forever Ago and Neon Abyss 2 (which also lands on Premium)
- October 13: Valor Mortis and Deep Dish Dungeon, alongside Battlefield
- October 15: Bluey's Happy Snaps and Chained Beasts
- October 16: Beyond These Stars (PC)
Leaving on October 15
If any of these are on your list, you have until October 15: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Pacific Drive, Evil West, Crime Scene Cleaner, Donut County, Superball and The Casting of Frank Stone. Nova Roma's PC preview goes too. Clair Obscur is the big one. If you want to keep it, the Game Pass member discount only applies while it's still in the library.
Kotaku also notes that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, out this month, won't be on Game Pass at launch. For last month's additions, see our earlier Game Pass roundup.
