PS Plus Monthly Games for October 2026: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and EDF: World Brothers 2
Sony has named October's PlayStation Plus Monthly Games, and it's a varied trio: a licensed racing sim, a tense multiplayer shooter and a cartoonish co-op romp. All three can be added to your library from Tuesday, October 6 until Monday, November 2, 2026, and they're included with every PS Plus tier, Essential included.

F1 25 (PS5)
The official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship, so you get that season's drivers, teams and calendar. If you mostly play alone, the two modes to try are Career, where you climb through a driver's career, and My Team 2.0, which puts you in charge of running your own outfit as well as driving for it.
For online play, the F1 World hub groups players into squads that race against AI opponents, which is a gentler way in than straight online lobbies if you're still learning the tracks.
Want the 2026 season? EA released the F1 25: 2026 Season Pack on June 3, 2026. It adds the full 2026 grid, including newcomers Audi and Cadillac, the new-generation cars with active aerodynamics and Overtake Mode, and the new Madring circuit in Madrid. It's paid DLC, and Sony's announcement doesn't say it's included, so expect the PS Plus version to be the base 2025 game. If you enjoy it, you can buy the pack separately to bring it up to date.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5)
Crytek's horror-tinged extraction shooter is the pick of the month if you have friends to play with. Each match drops you into a map with other hunters, solo or in a team of up to three. You track down a monstrous boss, kill it, grab the bounty and then try to escape with it while every other team in the match comes after you.
It's slow, tactical and unforgiving, because dying usually means losing the hunter you brought in. That's also what makes a clean extraction feel so good. PS Plus members can also pick up a free Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack from October 6 as part of Sony's Halloween content (more on that below).
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4)
The lighter side of the series. Instead of the mainline games' realistic style, World Brothers 2 uses blocky, voxel-style visuals, and you build a squad out of the soldiers you collect along the way, swapping between them mid-fight.
It's built for co-op: up to four players online, or two in local split-screen. Longtime fans will spot enemies borrowed from other Earth Defense Force spin-offs. It's also the only game this month that runs on PS4.
