The short version
- Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15.
- It was captured entirely in-game on a PS5, according to Rockstar.
- It debuts "Flower in a Hurricane", a new song from the game's score composers Justice, with Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
- GTA 6 launches on November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, at ₹5,999 ($79.99) for the Standard Edition in India.
What the trailer shows
Rockstar is calling this the launch trailer, not Trailer 3. It sticks with Jason and Lucia, who get pulled into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida after an easy job goes wrong.
Expect the usual GTA mix: a bank heist, police chases, swamp wildlife and plenty of Florida-style chaos. Rockstar hasn't shown a new map area or announced any new features with it.
The "captured in-game on PS5" line matters more than it sounds. It means the footage is running on the console most people will play on, not a high-end PC.
The music
Justice, the French electronic duo, wrote GTA 6's original score. "Flower in a Hurricane" is a standalone single from that work, and it's part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album. You can pre-save it on streaming services now, and Rockstar is also selling it on vinyl and CD.
That's separate from the in-game radio, which we covered in our GTA 6 radio stations post.
Where things stand
The release date hasn't moved since the second delay. The Standard Edition costs ₹5,999 ($79.99) and the Ultimate Edition ₹7,499 ($99.99). Our GTA 6 release date and price guide has the full breakdown.
Insider Gaming also reports that reviews will go live before launch. The embargo date hasn't been made public, so treat that as reported, not confirmed. Our review embargo explainer covers what that means.
There's still no official word on PC. A GamesBeat report points to early 2027, but Rockstar hasn't confirmed it.
What to watch: the review embargo date, and preload timing for PS5 and Xbox.
