The short version
- FromSoftware announced on October 29, 2026 that The Duskbloods is delayed from 2026 to 2027. There's still no exact date.
- The studio says the game is at its final adjustment stage, but it wants more time on game rules and balancing after feedback from its August network test.
- The Duskbloods is a Switch 2 exclusive: online multiplayer action for up to eight players, from the team behind Elden Ring and Dark Souls.
- No price has been announced, in India or anywhere else. Pre-orders aren't open yet.
What FromSoftware said
The news came in a short statement posted on the game's official X account and repeated on its Japanese website. FromSoftware said development was at the "final adjustment stage". It had still decided to move the launch window to 2027.
The reason is the network test. The studio says players showed real interest in the game's combat, strategic depth and player expression. To push those further, it wants time for "final adjustments to game rules and balancing." It also apologised to players who had been waiting.
The game's Japanese site now lists the release as 2027. Nintendo's US store page still showed 2026 when we checked, so expect that to update.

What The Duskbloods is
The Duskbloods was revealed on April 2, 2025, during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, and it's directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. That made it one of the biggest surprises of the Switch 2 launch line-up. It's published by FromSoftware itself and sold only on Switch 2.
You play as a Bloodsworn, a supernatural being whose powers come from blood. Up to eight players drop into online matches, forming temporary alliances and turning on each other while also fighting computer-controlled enemies. That mix of player-versus-player and player-versus-environment is usually called PvPvE. The goal, in Nintendo's words, is to win the right to "First Blood". It also supports single-system play for one player, but it's built around online matches, which need a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
On paper it's a very different game from Elden Ring. Miyazaki's studio has made online invasions a signature of its games for years, but a full game built around eight-player matches is new for it. That helps explain why balancing is the part it wants to get right.

How we got here
Image: Zerocade
FromSoftware announced a network test in July 2026 and ran it in August. Reports at the time claimed sign-ups were higher than for the Elden Ring Nightreign test, and the first session had login problems. The studio hasn't shared any test numbers itself.
What it means for Switch 2 owners
Switch 2's 2026 line-up loses one of its biggest third-party exclusives. For a multiplayer game, a balance delay is a sensible call. A competitive game that launches with one overpowered build can lose its players in weeks. A few extra months to fix that is a smaller risk than a rough launch.
There's no India price yet. Nintendo doesn't run an official eShop in India, so most Indian players buy Switch 2 games through imported cards or other regions' stores.
The next thing to watch is an exact 2027 date. FromSoftware usually pairs that with a new trailer and pre-orders. Until then, the official site's news section is where any second network test would show up first.
