The short version
- A tipster on Weibo says OPPO is testing a Find X10 Ultra with MediaTek's Dimensity 9600 Pro, tuned with custom camera processing. This is a rumour, not an announcement.
- The same tipster says a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 version is also being tested, that OPPO hasn't decided, and that Snapdragon is very likely to win.
- The Find X9 Ultra used Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Find X10 Ultra is expected in the first half of 2027, with no price yet.
- Leaks point to two 200MP cameras and a 100MP selfie camera. The current Find X10 already sells in India from ₹1,39,999.
What the leak says
The report surfaced on October 30, 2026. GSMArena credits an unnamed Weibo tipster, and My Mobile India names the tipster as Smart Pikachu. Their claim is that OPPO is testing the Dimensity 9600 Pro inside the Ultra with customised imaging algorithms, most likely for OPPO's own Lumo image engine.
The tipster also hedged. They said OPPO hasn't made up its mind, and that the Snapdragon version is still the likely choice. So treat this as a phone maker running two prototypes, which is common, rather than a confirmed switch.
How credible is it? Weibo tipsters vary a lot, and this one is describing a test, not a final decision. Even the tipster expects the Snapdragon version to ship. OPPO hasn't commented.
Why OPPO might consider MediaTek
The rest of the Find X10 family is already on MediaTek. The Find X10 Pro Max uses the Dimensity 9600 Pro, and the regular Find X10 uses the cheaper Dimensity 9600M, according to Beebom. Using the same chip in the Ultra would let OPPO reuse its camera tuning across the range.

No report gives a cost or heat reason, so that part is guesswork. On paper, both chips are top-tier. Ultra phones are camera flagships first, so the deciding factor may be which chip's image processor OPPO can tune better.
Dimensity 9600 Pro, explained
MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9600 Pro in September 2026. It's the company's first 2nm chip, built on TSMC's N2P process with over 33 billion transistors. If you want to know what "2nm" actually means, our process node explainer breaks it down.
Its CPU has eight cores in a 2+3+3 layout, all big Arm cores:
- 2x Arm C2-Ultra at up to 4.55GHz for the heaviest single tasks.
- 3x Arm C2-Pro at 4.35GHz.
- 3x Arm C2-Pro at 3.10GHz for lighter work.
The GPU is a 12-core Arm Mali G2-Ultra NX. MediaTek claims up to 27% more peak performance than the last generation at 24% lower peak power, and 18% faster ray tracing. It also supports LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage, and has two NPUs for on-device AI. MediaTek says it's up to 17% faster in single-core and 15% faster in multi-core than the Dimensity 9500. Those are MediaTek's own figures, not independent tests.
Qualcomm's rival is covered in our Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 vs Extreme Gen 6 guide. The Extreme version is Qualcomm's top bin, the same tier Motorola is using in its Signature 27.

Digital Chat Station, one of the more reliable Chinese leakers, shared the Ultra's camera setup on October 26:
- Main: 200MP, with a large 1/1.12-inch sensor and LOFIC tech for better high-contrast shots.
- Periscope telephoto: 200MP, reportedly about 1/1.3-inch.
- 10x periscope: 50MP.
- Selfie: 100MP with a square sensor.
My Mobile India adds a 6.89-inch 2K 144Hz BOE display and an 8,500mAh battery. That would be a big jump from the Find X9 Ultra's 7,050mAh, but it's still a leak.
What it means for India
The Find X10 series launched in India on October 22, and sales started on October 29, with the Find X10 from ₹1,39,999. The Find X9 Ultra is now listed at about ₹1,70,000 for 12GB/512GB on OPPO India's store. An Indian launch for the X10 Ultra is possible, but OPPO hasn't confirmed it.
Watch for China certification listings in early 2027. They usually reveal the chip model number before launch, which will settle this.
